Brief History of Cement Mixers

Posted by drennonconstruction under Construction Equipments

Cement is an important commodity in building. It has to be mixed in the right ratio to give the desired results. Cement mixers are used to ensure a person gets the right consistency before embarking on the building process. Cement is a mixture of several other things. These are sand, limestone and of course asphalt.

Cement was invented by the Greeks and was used to construct buildings in ancient Babylon. This made Babylon a very famous city in 625 BC. This however died down and only picked up later during the 16th century. The Greeks were no the ones who picked it up again but instead the Europeans did. Cement mixing was manually done during that time. The industrial revolution brought with it more sophisticated methods of mixing cement by use of machinery. This helped to make work easier as these machines were able to mix large potions of cement in a very short while. This was in the beginning of the 20th century.
